Pejawar Math seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji has expressed his opinion in favour of registering Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS).
To a question on RSS registration at a press meet, he opined, "If the organization is officially registered, scope for unwanted allegations will reduce."
Pejawar Math seer who is also the member of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Theertha Kshetra Trust has welcomed the probe by Special Investigation Team (SIT) into alleged irregularities in donations to the Ayodhya Ram Temple.
"The SIT investigation is welcome. If wrongdoingis proven, those responsible should get appropriate punishment. Such incidents should not happen at a place that is a center of faith for devotees in India and abroad," the seer told media persons in Udup
The trust is scheduled to meet on July 11 to discuss the allegations. "I will respond only after attending the meeting," he said.
Responding to allegations that the Sindhi community donated 200 kg of silver but did not receive due respect, the seer said, "Those who give large donations must collect receipts on the spot. Both donors and receivers have equal responsibility. Not issuing a receipt is an offence. But verbal claims shall not remain."
"There may be facts in the allegations made. But it is hard to believe that a receipt was not given," he added.
The seer said he has been giving several suggestions as a trust member and had raised issues in meetings too. "The people concerned should have been trustworthy," he noted.
'True Ram Seva':
"Instead of giving huge donations to the temple, building houses for the poor is real Ram Seva. Instead of 100 kg of silver, a thousand houses can be built. Serving God can be done by helping the underprivileged and Dalits," the seer said.
