Udupi: The NEET (UG) re-examination, which is being held across the country today (June 21), will take place at six centers in Udupi district. Around 2,970 students in the district have registered for the examination.
DC Swaroopa T.K. has instructed all the concerned officials to systematically make all necessary preparations to ensure that the NEET re-examination held on Sunday, June 21, is conducted transparently without any lapses. The NEET re-examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), will be held at six examination centers in the district. A total of 2,970 students aspiring to study medical graduation (MBBS)—including 938 boys, 2,032 girls, 7 PwBD candidates, and 1 candidate utilizing the scribe facility—will appear for the exam, the DC stated.
The DC directed that the examination process should be conducted without causing any confusion to the appearing students. She also instructed that an atmosphere conducive for students to write the exam peacefully must be created.
Today, the examinations will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. This time, an additional 15 minutes of time has been given to the students compared to the previous occasion. She explained that candidates with disabilities will get an additional one hour as per the rules.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that frisking and verification of students must be conducted at all examination centers from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, after which students should be allowed to head to their examination rooms. Students arriving after this time will not be permitted to enter the examination center.
She mentioned that students appearing for the NEET exam are prohibited from bringing any electronic gadgets inside the examination center, including mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, and earphones, as well as wallets and handbags. She added that students must be present at the center well ahead of the scheduled exam time.
Candidates must attend the exam along with their exam admit card, any one original identity card (original copies of documents including college ID, driving license, Aadhaar card, PAN card), and 2 photographs as mentioned in the instructions.
She directed the officials that CCTV cameras must be compulsorily installed at the examination centers. The heads of the examination centers must provide necessary basic amenities to the candidates, including drinking water and toilets. Appropriate police security must be provided around the examination centers.
Vehicles must be kept ready to facilitate the fetching of question papers and the dispatch of answer sheets. The Deputy Commissioner has instructed the officials of the MESCOM department to ensure uninterrupted power supply within the jurisdiction of the examination centers without any power failures.
The NEET re-examination will be held at six examination centers in the district: Dr. G. Shankar Government Women's First Grade College in Ajjarakad, M.G.M. Pre-University College in Udupi, Government Pre-University College (Board School) in Udupi, Government Girls Pre-University College, Government Pre-University College in Brahmavara, and Kota Viveka Pre-University College.
