Udupi: With the objective of strengthening the party organization from the village level to the district level, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Udupi District Committee has been newly reconstituted, said the party's District In-charge Manjunath V.
Speaking at a press conference held in Udupi, he informed that Shekhar Hejamadi, a well-known activist from the coastal region, has been appointed as the Udupi District President. He said that Prashanth Thottam has been selected as the District General Secretary, Gopalakrishna Kundapura and Ananda Brahmavara as Vice Presidents, Pushpakara Korangrapadi as Treasurer, and Vithala Salikeri as the District Office Secretary.
Speaking on the occasion, District President Shekhar Hejamadi stated that the work to prepare the party workers, keeping the upcoming Gram Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat elections in mind, has already begun. He added that the party will actively participate in the elections to fight against the anti-people policies of the State and Central governments and to strengthen the voice of the Bahujan community in the local governance system.
A membership drive has been organized across the district, and he called upon youth, women, farmers, laborers, and people from backward classes to join the party in large numbers. He said that protecting the values of the Constitution and realizing the aspirations of social justice and equality is the primary goal of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
District General Secretary Prashanth Thottam, Vice Presidents Gopalakrishna Kundapura and Ananda Brahmavara, Treasurer Pushpakara Korangrapadi, District Office Secretary Vithala Salikeri, and Ramesh were present at the press conference.
